YOUTH AND BEAUTY

“Immortal youth” and “eternal beauty.” These are two of humanity's most fervently desired dreams, throughout history and across East and West.

“Youth” and “beauty” are two unchanging human needs, meaning that even after thousands of years they remain the same. Alongside “money” and “power,” “love” and “sex,” these are two of history's most obsessive and desired things. It is said Qin Shi Huang became utterly absorbed in the fantasy of eternal youth. Even a once-renowned Chinese Emperor, the most powerful man under heaven, “son of Heaven,” called the “King of Kings,” was powerless to fulfill this need… It remains a fantasy: forever young, forever beautiful without “deterioration.”

So it can be said that whoever finds a solution fully meeting these two needs for humanity will possess an enormous fortune and enter the pantheon of the richest people of all time.

Unfortunate for those wanting to get rich, but fortunate for the many with the right connection, there is a method that—although not as “illusory” as staying young and beautiful forever, since everything is impermanent—can make people younger, keep them young longer, slow aging, “reverse aging,” preserve beauty and make their bearing more radiant… And it is almost free, or costs nothing at all.

Meditation again? Yes. Meditation!

I still remember looking older in my early twenties than I do now. Many people who have followed me over the years acknowledge this. Decades have passed… Of course, part of the reason is that I began my business journey early, while still sitting in lecture halls as a student. Being young, facing many pressures and plunging into the business world, I had to “tense myself up” and appear mature. That made me look “old before my time,” like “an old man in a young body,” with a tired face and depleted, damaged vitality. Over time, things gradually became more stable. I entered a more “anything is fine,” “go with nature” phase, and everything loosened and relaxed. I became calmer, more comfortable and therefore younger-looking.

But the process of ‘reverse aging’ has only applied since I first discovered meditation and began practicing it every day!

By age 26, I looked younger than at 21. At 28, younger than at 26. After 30, younger than at 28. I thought it would stop there, but I continued to look younger — even younger than myself in my twenties. As time passes, of course my appearance will eventually age. But it is undeniable that I have looked decades younger (than my actual age). Sometimes, wearing a white shirt, people think I am only a schoolboy, not even a university student. When we happen to talk and they ask about me, I say I have 5 children (at that time), and they gape in astonishment (or disbelief)…

Actually, these things are not uncommon around the world. If you take the time to research and observe, you will see many movie stars, celebrities, and influential people over 40, 50, or 60 who look only 30, for example. Many have revealed that one important secret to maintaining their youthful appearance is meditation.

Recently, Nobel Prize-winning biologist Elizabeth Blackburn published research demonstrating that meditation helps extend lifespan and counter aging. Harvard research reached the same conclusion. Another study found that continuous meditation for 5 years can make you “12 years younger.” Another study compared meditators' and non-meditators' brains and found meditators' brains were 6.7 years younger. This research was conducted by American, German, and Australian scientists and shared by team member Dr. Christian Laser of Jena University Hospital (Germany).

DNA science tells us that at the end of a DNA strand is something called a telomere, which protects DNA from damage. Telomere length is also a “sign” of a cell's lifespan. The shorter the telomeres, the more aged, weak and depleted the cells and whole body become. Why do telomeres shorten? Pressures in economic circumstances, finances, work, relationships and other aspects of life can produce stress-related hormones such as Cortisol and Catecholamine. These hormones shorten telomeres, causing aging. Research using neuroimaging and biochemical experiments confirms that meditation changes brain activity. This in turn reduces factors that trigger stress, thereby reducing stress hormone production and telomere shortening. Cells consequently live longer, naturally extending human lifespan as well.

Meditation also improves blood circulation, resulting in better skin. Beautiful skin and hair make people beautiful—do you agree? Sometimes improving the skin alone significantly enhances a person's appearance. So meditation also beautifies. When stressed, the release of Cortisol causes acne, weight gain, and fat accumulation. Meditation transforms stress, so these things do not occur.

Moreover, beauty does not come only from the outside. It also comes from within. Meditation gives you wholesome energy, so the character or “presence” you radiate is also… luminous. Above all, meditation helps you develop many beautiful qualities. Character is everyone's most beautiful “jewelry,” their finest “makeup.” True beauty lies in one's qualities.

So meditation is also like a moisturizer, collagen, a wonderful and wholesome means of caring for your skin and beauty, with 0 toxic chemical ingredients.

And the daily cost of “using” it?

That is also 0.
