In my early entrepreneurial days, I was fortunate to receive guidance from Teachers. I have never stopped feeling grateful; over time, my gratitude has only grown, never cooled. I believe helping those who come after us is the best way to repay those who came before. And so YUP was born as a way for us to practice these core values. That was our first reason for founding YUP.
YUP therefore has considerable experience in Entrepreneurship Education. In a valuable Startup CEO training program I often recommend to my students, 6/9 instructors in the Saigon class were instructors in YUP's early Entrepreneurship Training program—respected entrepreneurs I deeply appreciate and respect.
Over time, YUP students have spread across the country. Everywhere I go, I see Yuppies: at events, in other classes (in one class, Yuppies made up 25% of… 200 students), even when… escaping into the forest to meditate, I meet Yuppies. Unbelievable! If you see me out partying sometime, Yuppies, pretend you do not see me and let me enjoy myself naturally.
Pictured is a Yuppie living abroad who has built his career in Cambodia. Over time, I have continued to wonder whether life in a foreign land has been good to him. He studied back when the program used its old Format, from 2013. In month 3 just past, he had the “good fortune” to take the program again in its new Format. As a former student, YUP always covers 100% of the cost of retaking the course.
After completing the program and finding it so valuable, Long voluntarily chose to ‘Pay It Forward,’ using his own money to gift 3 places to 3 future entrepreneurs, giving them the opportunity to study YUP’s Entrepreneurship Education program. That was wonderful! We also found suitable recipients who did not disappoint their ‘senior fellow student’ Long. We believe Long shares our values and always places hope in future entrepreneurs.
There is absolutely no “hidden meaning” in this status update. Former students, please feel free to come back and experience the program again without any pressure to achieve what Long has achieved. Simply completing the program and pursuing entrepreneurship responsibly is already the greatest encouragement you could give us.
YUP students, dear Yuppies.
Some Yuppies, after studying at YUP and joining the Journey to Grow, returned to their entrepreneurial home—to YUP. There are people like Long, and many who simply maintain a spiritual (and physical) connection with YUP. This is our first “Entrepreneurial Home.” From YUP they continue their journey, learn from other teachers, join other classes, and connect with other environments. Some succeed, many mature as people, and some do not realize their dreams. Yet they keep a “Connection” with YUP in their hearts. When tired or weary, and even when overflowing with joy and happiness, they return to YUP to share, connect, and nurture their entrepreneurial spirit, then enthusiastically contribute their value to the community again. Remember: you still have such a place to kindle your entrepreneurial spirit.
Keep the YUP Entrepreneurship Home in your heart!
