For the previous decades of my life, I did not know this

In my dreamy school days, I thought I would become a professional game developer.

As a bewildered student, I thought I would become a quiet engineer.

A few years later, I found myself striving every day to be at least worthy of such fine words as ‘entrepreneurship’ and ‘entrepreneur.’

Social entrepreneur, professional speaker, educator and trainer, Game changer/Change maker… These are many of the very “impressive-sounding” labels the community and other reputable organizations use for me.

A special article in the spring issue of a respected newspaper wrote about me: “Tạ Minh Tuấn is not quite a businessman, not quite a teacher, although he fits all those labels. Tuấn, in the long story of those still-short years, is also a young person who never stops pioneering.”

So this newspaper has again called me a ‘pioneer.’ As though I were still short of ‘labels,’ they generously titled the article ‘The Superman Inspiring Entrepreneurship,’ apparently still feeling they had not fully described my role, as if simply ‘inspiring’ were not quite enough of an adjective.

Only 3 weeks ago, for the first time in my life, I learned about “that.”

For the first time, I realized I had been and was a social activist.

At the One Young World global summit, Johnson & Johson selected 8 Change makers worldwide. There, I was described as a social advocate in healthcare and education.

Exactly! The reason I still teach professionally, train, share, and create programs beneficial to society is that this is a social activity. That social activity gave birth to Vietnam’s first entrepreneurship education program, with an exceptionally deep base of experience. In our students’ words, it transformed an entire generation of entrepreneurship students amid the waves of ‘reckless startups’ and ‘multilevel get-rich schemes.’ Again, according to our students, it has helped so many people become better equipped to ‘set sail,’ and most who have experienced our programs become ‘immune’ to get-rich ‘speakers,’ dubious internet marketing, and manipulative multilevel marketing.

But next year I have so many plans and so much work. Although all 5 regions where YUP has spread its positive values to the community—Saigon (the South), Hanoi (the North), Đà Nẵng (Central Vietnam), Cần Thơ (the Mekong Delta), and BMT (the Highlands)—keep “requesting” our presence on our mission, my dear friend, we must say that this appears to be the last renowned X-Startup course in Hanoi.

Previously, YUP's nationwide schedule was usually booked 1 year ahead. This time, however, we dare not promise next year's schedule in advance.

Dear friend, this course, which has positively transformed many startup entrepreneurs, will take place for the last time in Hanoi on the upcoming 10,11,12.11.

Please do not think this is a sales tactic; I truly want to let you know. Many people have asked when the course will come to their area, and this announcement is part of our responsibility. The class was already full, but we will open a few final places for you and for this course. The only way to register: complete the form at the bottom of the page http://xstartup.vn.

I look forward to meeting you at this final opportunity.

Warm regards!
