The year 2025 has passed, and as customary, people write a yearly recap to record what has gone by.
My recap of 2025 is very simple: there is a song titled ‘No promises to keep’ (composed by Nobuo Uematsu), and its title perfectly describes the state I had come to embody by the end of the year.
Not because there are few activities or results. Over many years, everything has gradually been arranged for me. For several years, I have followed neither an accumulating lifestyle nor an extreme path of renunciation. Everything has gradually adjusted in harmony and balance, according to the Law of Synchronicity: work, business, relationships and family.
I am no longer attached to business activities, though I still collaborate when someone with the right connection needs help. My life has become very simple. Each day I feel a gentle joy, as if it were seeping through my cells. Arrangements have been made for my loved ones to live in wonderful places. And I have been given every opportunity to focus on doing what needs to be done.
Having no more promises at a purely worldly level does not mean an aimless life. I remain devoted to my duties of service. My life is dedicated to the Dharma, to Dhamma. The year 2025 ends 1 cycle of the world, and also a cycle of my own. Every dream, vision and message I have received has informed and prepared me, so I feel neither sad nor lonely, surprised nor overjoyed, but receptive and at ease, peaceful and harmonious. Previously, when a loved one died, I had already known and was therefore prepared. I am not caught in anything, including the need to “not be caught in anything.” Thus I cherish and appreciate everything, responsible without attachment. Everything is impermanent, but nothing is meaningless.
In 2026, I am not setting a goal of becoming better. Only when you no longer feel pressured to strain for ‘a better year’ can you truly ‘live more authentically.’ The new year need not be better; it only needs to resonate at the right frequency. People always pray for the new year to be better than the previous one, happier, wealthier, and more abundant in what they accumulate. On the positive side, this also encourages greater effort and ambition. And I wish you those things as well. For so long that I cannot remember when it began, in all my prayers at the beginning of the year, during Tết, at sacred places, or before the ancestral altar, I have asked for nothing for myself, only good things for everyone. This is partly because my life program (+life program) has provided favorable conditions for me to do so. I am not sharing this to prove anything. Sincerely, I pray for peace, harmony, and fulfillment for all.
In 2026, a new cycle arrives, and everything will truly be very different. If you still need to learn lessons about material things, fame, relationships, worldly life, etc., congratulations: it shows you are still breathing and living, and life still has meaning. If you have now entered spirituality and found a Method to practice, I am sincerely happy for you, because as time goes on, you will realize how extremely important this is. Life will show us. Everything is a lesson.
Everything that happens, whether bad or good, has only one purpose: it serves your spiritual evolution.
