I have just completed the TMT 6 Blocks Leadership training program, also unofficially called Ether Leadership, for Shiseido Vietnam.
During the recent intensive training day, managers, department heads, leaders, and high-potential staff of Shiseido Group in Vietnam studied Leadership—professional leadership skills.
After the Japanese General Director’s talk, the managers spent more than 8 continuous hours learning with the trainer, decoding the most important DNA in both principles and practice, and how to use the 6 Leadership Blocks systematically and integratively to lead and manage an effective team.
These are important conclusions drawn from more than 10 years of trying my hand at Leadership in many different teams:
-Started a business at 19 (the entrepreneurial environment).
-At 21, while still a Bách Khoa student, had to lead doctors and healthcare professionals with decades of experience (many with Level 1 specialist qualifications or medical master's degrees, including Level 2 specialists and doctors with PhDs) (a highly specialized, highly educated environment).
-Later became the youngest chapter president (23) of one of the world's largest business networking associations operating in Vietnam, serving entrepreneur members of the same chapter. At that time, I had to take the chapter from the brink of “closing” when I accepted responsibility to success and sustainable growth for many years afterward (the business owner and association environment).
-And then returning to young people and young entrepreneurs, needing to work with a young team (a young workforce environment, with a few university students).
-Next came the role of chief executive of a manufacturing business with 3 factories and many workers (the manufacturing and worker environment).
-All the way to a senior leadership position with nationwide responsibilities at one of Vietnam's largest corporations (the Corporate environment).
-And finally, the team at TMT Group, up to the present day.
All this experience is integrated with the worldwide “Best Practice” in Leadership from recent decades, refined into Ether Leadership, part of which has already been brought to leaders of corporations and businesses.
I am so happy to have had the chance to work with Shiseido Vietnam. Whenever I visit a company, its office always feels like “home” to me. For example, it was the same last time with Dutch Lady: I felt that staying and going to work there the next day as one of their employees would feel very natural. This is because when we come to a company, we humbly integrate and bring a spirit, a technology, and an energy of “Make Vietnam A Great Place To Live”.
So whenever I arrive somewhere with this energy, I easily feel it and call it ‘Home.’
