Dear friends,
Since ancient times, humanity has always longed for peace, yet history is filled with war. Why do these opposites coexist? Because war begins in the human mind, not with weapons. And peace is not a document or treaty, but a quality cultivated in every heart.
1. The roots of war?
War begins with divisions in perception. When people, through the “ego,” identify with possessions, status, power, temporary external things, viewpoints, and beliefs… they begin drawing boundaries. And boundaries give rise to conflict.
The individual ego wants to be right.
The collective ego wants to win.
The racial ego wants superiority and survival by eliminating what is different.
The war outside is merely a projection of the war within each person: between love and selfishness, understanding and ignorance.
2. Peace is more than the absence of war
Many think peace simply means no guns or bullets. But true peace is an inner state free of conflict.
A person may live in a peaceful country yet still be full of war within.
Conversely, some remain serene amid storms because they have made peace with themselves.
Peace is first an inner quality. When many individuals are harmonious, a peaceful society forms.
3. The role of suffering and war
Do not merely condemn war; look at it with aware eyes. War is a mirror showing humanity the limits of ignorance. The very suffering caused by war has made people yearn more deeply for peace…
Without darkness, we would not know how to cherish the dawn.
Without having experienced war, humanity would struggle to learn the sacred value of peace.
So war, though brutal, is also the ‘strict teacher’ of ‘human evolution.’
4. The path to peace
Lasting peace cannot be achieved through treaties alone, but through transformation of consciousness.
There are 4 important pillars of peace through consciousness transformation:
a. Meditation: bringing people back to their still essence, with peace, harmony, and inner peace.
b. Love: recognizing that all living beings share one origin.
c. Wisdom of cause and effect: understanding that violence returns to the person who sows it.
d. Reconciliatory action: beginning with relationships, family, and community, then spreading to society and the nation.
Global peace can begin only with peace within each individual.
Do not wait for a leader or an international organization to bring peace to the world. Peace is your own mission. When you sit down to meditate and cultivate a peaceful mind, you are contributing to peace for all humanity.
When you forgive someone, you extinguish a small war. When you open your heart to love, you build a bridge of peace.
War and peace are not merely political matters, but humanity’s spiritual journey.
Understand: each time you return to yourself, you help rewrite this world's history toward peace.
