In Greek mythology, the character I empathize with most is Hades (Pluto)… Lord of the dead, Ruler of the nether world.
They defeated the Titans together, yet while his brothers Poseidon received the vast ocean and Zeus ruled the blue skies, Hades received only a dark, dreary, decaying world. No light reached it, and he could not even breathe the same air as those “above.”
Hades is the lord of the underworld, but some also call him its benevolent king.
When Orpheus descended into the underworld to rescue his wife, Hades was moved to tears by the young man's music.
Demons have no heart.
However beautiful Orpheus's music may be, without a heart, how could one feel the beauty of its melody?
Anyone who loves that piece of music cannot be a bad person.
At YUP, we have built an environment where it seems that… even Hades would not be “judged.”
Beware the habit of “judging”: hearing a few words, seeing a few things, then making sweeping accusations and “labeling” others.
Once you understand other people's hearts, you find that almost everyone becomes… wonderful.
