The secret of confidence

People often misunderstand confidence.

They think confidence means being fierce like a warrior, tensing up like a boxer about to enter the ring, shouting loudly into the mirror:

“I am confident! I am strong! Yes!!!”

It sounds strong, but in reality it is only a temporary shell.

Because if inside you still tremble like a mouse, however loudly you shout, you remain a mouse. You can cry, “I am not afraid of cats!” but faced with a cat’s sharp claws, your heart still races.

So what is the secret of confidence?

Not shouting to suppress fear, but knowing yourself clearly.

Know who you are, what your strengths are, where your weaknesses lie, and accept them.

A clever mouse does not challenge a cat. It knows it is small, but also knows it is nimble, knows how to find an escape route, and knows how to use the terrain. This very understanding of itself gives it more chances to survive than any illusion of strength.

True confidence comes when you no longer have to stand trembling before fear and force yourself to be strong—you know how to understand, how to be aware, and how to prevent trouble instead of having to “put out fires” afterward.

That is wisdom. That is discernment. That is knowing yourself.

Meditation is a clear mirror helping you see yourself and recognize the truth about yourself. Knowing the truth makes you clearer, better at analyzing situations, and wiser in decisions—and so, “naturally,” more confident.

Confidence is not the goal; it is simply a consequence.

Self-confidence is the result of self-knowledge.

When you truly “know,” you will truly believe.

Meditation helps you know the truth—and the most important truth is about yourself.
