Light Charity is a charity-information network, another initiative of the Yuppies community and TMT Group. It is the “parent” organization of “child” social projects working toward a shared mission.
LightOne is Light Charity's first “child” project, with the concept “1,000,000+ Clothes of Love.”
The project's model is effective, practical, and simple, as follows:
1. Collect used clothes from Givers. A Giver is anyone with used clothes, which means All of us.
2. Sell at a symbolic price of 2k/item to Recipients, who are vulnerable members of society. Limit the number of clothes each Recipient can purchase to minimize profiteering. Charge 2k rather than giving them away to preserve the Recipient's self-respect.
3. Raise funds through clothing sales to help save children with blood cancer. LightOne creates Impact for 2 groups: tens of thousands of Recipients of used clothes and hundreds of children with leukemia.
LightOne has taken place 1 time in SG, creating Impact for 600+ people.
As a continuation, Light Charity is launching the Light One project, ‘1.000.000+ Pieces of Clothing with Love,’ NATIONWIDE, right NOW.
To join hands with Light and become Lighters joining “Light Charity” nationwide, there are the following ways:
1. Donate your used clothes; surely everyone has some, including you.
2. Join the team of thousands of volunteers nationwide running this meaningful campaign.
3. Help promote the program on Facebook and among friends and acquaintances so more people donate used clothes to those in need, avoiding waste and raising funds for children with leukemia. The simplest way is to SHARE this article on your timeline.
