7 Vietnamese people make Forbes’ Asia 30 Under 30 list

7 Vietnamese people under 30 were honored in the fields of art, media, e-commerce, healthcare, and science.

 

Forbes has just announced its list of Asia's most outstanding people under 30 (30 Under 30) across various fields over the past year. 7 Vietnamese people were honored.

1. Đinh Nhật Nam, Urban Station

Đinh Nhật Nam, 26, is the founder of the Urban Station coffee chain. The chain has now expanded to 38 outlets nationwide. According to Forbes, together with a group of new investors, Nam is preparing to launch a new coffee chain in China, where coffee consumption is rising, and plans to bring several premium beverage brands from Singapore into Vietnam. Forbes honored him on its 30 Under 30 list in the arts category.

2. Trần Đức Việt

Trần Đức Việt, 24, is the YouTube vlogger known as JVevermind. JVevermind began uploading self-directed and self-produced videos to YouTube in 2011. He was also the first Vietnamese person to receive YouTube's Golden Play Button Award after surpassing 1 million subscribers. Trần Đức Việt was honored in the “30 Under 30” list in advertising, marketing, and media.

3. Hà Lâm, Triip.me

7 Vietnamese people make Forbes’ Asia 30 Under 30 list

Hà Lâm (Lâm Thị Thúy Hà), 29, co-founded the travel startup Triip.me with her husband. The couple once sold their house to fund it. The project recently received 500,000 USD from Singapore investment fund Gobi Partners. She was honored in the “30 Under 30” list in retail and e-commerce.

4. Lê Hoàng Uyên Vy, VinEcom

7 Vietnamese people make Forbes’ Asia 30 Under 30 list

Lê Hoàng Uyên Vy, 28, is currently Deputy CEO of e-commerce company VinEcom. A finance graduate of Georgetown University, Vy founded fashion website Chon.vn in 2009, as well as Aiya, a restaurant chain serving Vietnamese street food indoors. She was named in “30 Under 30” for retail and e-commerce.

5. Lương Duy Hoài, Giao Hàng Nhanh

7 Vietnamese people make Forbes’ Asia 30 Under 30 list

Another Vietnamese person to make the “30 Under 30” list in retail and e-commerce is Lương Duy Hoài. Now 27, Hoài graduated with a university degree in information technology and is the founder and CEO of Giao Hàng Nhanh, with more than 1,000 employees. He is working with 5 partners to provide shipping services. Giao Hàng Nhanh works with small online businesses to support delivery, including 30 e-commerce websites and hundreds of other small businesses. By the end of 2014, the company was delivering around 10,000 orders each day,

6. Lê Hùng Việt Bảo

7 Vietnamese people make Forbes’ Asia 30 Under 30 list

Lê Hùng Việt Bảo, 29, is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Chicago specializing in number theory, one of mathematics' oldest fields. He previously earned a PhD in mathematics at Harvard after his undergraduate degree at Cambridge. Bảo calls the relationships among numbers “surprisingly complex but not yet beautiful.” He believes his field will be useful in developing security technology. Bảo was named in “30 Under 30” for healthcare and science.

7. Tạ Minh Tuấn, Help International

7 Vietnamese people make Forbes’ Asia 30 Under 30 list

Tạ Minh Tuấn, 27, is the founder of Help International. Motivated by his father's cancer diagnosis, Tuấn established Help International to help connect patients in Vietnam with private doctors. His organization has now helped more than 10,000 families. He is also president of Junior Chamber International, a nonprofit organization for people aged 18 to 40. Tuấn was included in the “30 Under 30” list in healthcare and science.
