Facebook recalls 5 years ago: BNI Vietnam's first 5 Gold Members!
I had just succeeded as president steering BNI Master. Before my term, closing the chapter had been seriously considered. The 3 presidents before me had failed, and my term was a “last chance.” I was also its youngest member, yet had to shoulder the responsibility of being the “last hope.” Through the right direction, good execution and collective unity, BNI Master revived—not merely returning, but becoming strong! Back then, a chapter was strong if one morning meeting helped members earn another 1 billion in sales.
Contributing to the common good while company work remained plentiful and mentally taxing, I looked a little thin in this picture. Even giving everything one can does not necessarily bring any material value in return. Even later, today's new Master members may never know this story. Still, I am always happy because ultimately, what matters is not what I can take with me but what I can leave behind.
