Marking 1 year since finishing Before Dawn, There Is Always Darkness and first “teasing” the book on Facebook. So many wonderful things have happened since!
27.7.2017“Loneliness, one could say, is the very nature of an artist, because art always demands a new creation, something that has never appeared before. It must be unique, both to everyone else and to oneself. That poses a challenge. If the work I put out is utterly unfamiliar and no one understands it, that is a dialogue in absolute solitude. Poets, writers and entrepreneurs view their creations aslike a work of art… they are like mines with many layers of deposits. Social interaction is the surface layer, and to reach the first ore seams, one must strip away those outer layers; the deeper one strips, the more precious it becomes. An artist needs to live simultaneously on the surface and in the deep seams below. The reality is that our loved ones do not always understand us, but sometimes we even like… that lack of understanding. That is the artist's lot. Having everyone, yet having no one. What expedition is crowded? The journey toward art consists of endless expeditions into the world of the human soul. Expeditions must involve few people, with the most talented leading the way. Sometimes they have only followers, not companions beside them. And that experience is necessary. In moments of “loneliness,” I immerse myself in creation.”Today I finished my first book, “commissioned” by the publisher. Will you celebrate with me?
