Frankenstein is a symbol hidden deep within humanity's collective unconscious\u2026 That is why so many people resonate with it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because humans always want to \u201cseek\u201d their Creator, like abandoned or \u201clost\u201d children \u2014 like Frankenstein always searching for \u201cFather.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yet people themselves constantly reject the darkness within and have not truly faced, observed, understood, and transformed it\u2014the \u2018Inner Frankenstein,\u2019 the \u2018shadow child\u2019 (because it has not been understood) in each person\u2019s psychological structure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is an \u201cinner tragedy\u201d of pursuit and escape, of reflection in a mirror, of the many layers and dimensions of Cause \u2013 Effect or Creator \u2013 Creature within the consciousness of each soul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
1. Frankenstein \u2013 \u201cyour\u201d own story, not Victor's<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the 2025 version, del Toro emphasizes that this is not a horror film, but an intensely emotional story viewed through his lens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This makes the film a spiritual parable rather than a \u201cfailed scientific experiment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Viewed from the soul\u2019s perspective:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Victor Frankenstein is not merely a mad scientist, but a symbol of the arrogant ego within each of us\u2014the part that wants control, wants to exceed limits, and wants to \u201cdefeat\u201d life and death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Creature is not a monster, but:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
-The abandoned child within<\/p>\n\n\n\n
-The rejected part of memory<\/p>\n\n\n\n
-The living karmic consequences of ignorant actions<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Elizabeth, Victor's father, the blind old man\u2026 are different aspects of the karmic energy field operating in Victor's life\u2014and in your own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From the film's very structure \u2014 divided into \u2018Victor's story\u2019 and \u2018The Creature's story\u2019 \u2014 del Toro shows us:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There is no \u201cabsolute truth\u201d at the physical level. Every soul has its own story, yet all are true within the framework of karma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
2. The ambition to \u201coutdo God\u201d \u2014 or an unhealed fear of death<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Victor's deepest motivation is not only \u201cscience,\u201d but:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
-The pain of losing a mother<\/p>\n\n\n\n
-Resentment toward a strict father<\/p>\n\n\n\n
-Helplessness in the face of death and injustice<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But on the spiritual plane:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Every attempt to evade impermanence through control, rather than acceptance and understanding,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
all lead to tragedy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Victor does not truly love life\u2014he only wants to control it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
God (or Source Consciousness) does not \u201cpunish\u201d Victor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is precisely his ambition exceeding his inner maturity that produces bitter consequences:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When willpower exceeds wisdom<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When power exceeds compassion<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Whatever you create will return<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Teaching you a very costly lesson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
3. The Creature \u2013 the rejected soul, our own karmic child<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As soon as his \u2018child\u2019 comes alive, Victor:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
-Tying it up in the darkness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
-Using violence to \u201cteach a lesson\u201d \u2014 exactly as his father treated him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
-Ashamed of it, afraid others will see it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Spiritually, it is how we treat the wounded, rough, \u2018ugly\u2019 part within ourselves:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We lock it in the unconscious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We strike and scold it: \u201cYou must not appear. You embarrass me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We pretend we are \u201cfine,\u201d \u201cperfect,\u201d and \u201cspiritual,\u201d while underneath is a child covered in stitches and cuts, crying out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Creature:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
-That is Karma in the form of a \u201ccreature\u201d:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
-You create it through ideas, thoughts, emotions, and actions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
-When you reject it, it enters the forest of the unconscious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
-But it does not disappear. It grows in the darkness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
-And returning to knock on the door of your life just when you think you have \u201cescaped\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
4. The blind old man \u2013 when we are seen through nonjudgmental eyes<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The film\u2019s second part, \u2018The Creature\u2019s Tale,\u2019 is its most important spiritual gift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Creature hides in a blind old man's house\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The old man could not see outward appearances\u2014he could only sense the intentions of the \u2018Forest God\u2019 helping him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He taught it to read, speak and think\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And for the first time, the \u201cmonster\u201d was treated as a soul with dignity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is a beautiful symbol\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The blind old man is pure awareness\u2014unconditioned by appearance or prejudice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In Meditation, when you close your eyes, you no longer see your own \u201cexterior\u201d; you only feel the life within.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is when the \u201cmonster\u201d within you is allowed to sit down, breathe and learn to tell the truth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But even that refuge is eventually shattered by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
-The violence of the world<\/p>\n\n\n\n
-Misunderstanding<\/p>\n\n\n\n
-Fear of difference<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Creature realizes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI am immortal, but I have no home to return to.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is the ego's ultimate loneliness \u2014 even after gaining \u201cpower,\u201d \u201clongevity\u201d and \u201cimmortality,\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
if there is nowhere that understands us, the soul still feels out of place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
5. The bloody wedding \u2013 when karma intrudes into \u201chappy\u201d moments<\/p>\n\n\n\n
William and Elizabeth's wedding night \u2014 seemingly the pinnacle of \u201cworldly happiness\u201d \u2014 becomes the climax of karmic consequences:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Creature arrives and asks for a companion\u2014not merely from desire, but from fear of eternal loneliness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Victor refuses in disgust, denying even his responsibility as a \u201cfather.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They will enter the party, inviting you to face them \u2014 one way or another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
6. The pursuit across ice and snow \u2013 the ego chasing its own karma<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Entering the final part, we see the image:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ship was trapped in ice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Victor, disabled and haunted\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Frankenstein repeatedly expresses, \u201cPay attention to me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is not merely a cinematic \u201cchase scene,\u201d but a portrait of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
-The mind (Victor) refuses to let go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
-Karmic consequences (Creature) force the mind to look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
-The blockage of trapped, frozen, unreleased emotions (The ship trapped in ice).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When The Creature steps aboard the ship, everyone must face the truth:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
-Victor acknowledges: \u201cYou are my son.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
-The Creature calls: \u201cFather.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
-Anderson gave up his obsession and ordered a return home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is the moment of karmic release:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A. Acknowledgment:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When you stop treating the darkness within as an \u201cenemy\u201d\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And acknowledge it as the \u201cchild\u201d of your own thoughts, actions, and choices,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At that very moment, the deepest layer of karma begins to dissolve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
B. Apology and forgiveness:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Victor apologizes and calls it his child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Creature forgives him, allowing him to die peacefully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
C. Letting go:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Anderson turns the boat back \u2013 meaning the mind knows when to stop\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
No longer encouraging ego-driven pursuits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then the ice melts and the ship is freed\u2014as if symbolizing the beginning dissolution of individual and collective karma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
7. The final light \u2013 when the \u201cmonster\u201d becomes a \u201csaint\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the journey of awakening\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You do not become a \u201cspotless angel who has never made a mistake.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You become a \u201cmature soul\u201d because you have:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
-Daring to create.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
-Daring to face the consequences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
-Daring to apologize.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
-Daring to forgive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
-Daring to let go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
-Daring to stand alone in the light without seeking external recognition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
8. A few questions for your own meditation after watching the film<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After watching Frankenstein, you can sit quietly for a few minutes and ask yourself:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A. Who is \u201cVictor\u201d within me?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Which part of me always wants to control everything and \u2018go beyond the rules\u2019 ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What pain gave rise to it, and what memories involving parents, teachers, or society?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
B. What is my \u201cThe Creature\u201d?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Which emotions and wounds in my life have been locked away and deemed \u2018ugly\u2019 ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What have I burned away, rejected or run away from?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
C. Do I have a \u201cblind old man\u201d within?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I spend time sitting with myself in silence\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Like a blind person who does not judge appearances, but feels only with the heart?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
D. What am I hunting on the \u201cice and snow\u201d?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A title, a person, a dream, revenge?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If I let go of that pursuit, how might the ship of my life be set free?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are brave enough to look at Frankenstein as though looking at yourself\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is no \u201cmonster\u201d to destroy,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
only children of consciousness that need to be acknowledged, embraced, and guided back to the light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
